James is sent to live with his aunts who treat him horribly. One day an old man gives him a bag containing the strongest magic in the world. When James accidentally spills it near the old peach tree the most marvellous things happen. David Wood's adaptation captures all the fun and excitement of Roald Dahl’s superb children's classic, and includes plenty of opportunities for participation! Fun for all ages – and a big piece of fruit.

Illyria last performed this terrific play 10 years ago; the production was Critic's Choice at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, attracted 5-star reviews in Canada and received a nomination for Best of Fringe in Vancouver. Illyria’s production of this perennial Shakespeare favourite is passionate, poetic and utterly gripping. Suitable for all ages.

The Oranjerie of Kasteel Duivenvoorde in Voorschoten, near The Hague, opens its private garden yet again to all Illyria lovers for its first performance of James & The Giant Peach on 2nd September 2010 at 6.00 PM and second performance on 4th September 2010 at 2.00 PM.
