A Night at The Museum- Haute Couture & Kandinsky!

On Friday 12 March from 19:00-22:00 all fashionistas are invited to the Gemeentemuseum to see the work of some of the most exclusive fashion houses such as Dior, Chanel and Givenchy during A Night at the Museum: Haute Couture!

This major exhibition showcases the history of haute couture, alongside creations by today’s top couturiers. Renowned fashion houses like Dior, Chanel, Christian Lacroix and Jean Paul Gaultier provided a number of exclusive couture creations from their latest collections, fresh from the catwalk, and never before seen in the Netherlands. Visitors are be able to admire the details that make these garments so unique: the sumptuous fabrics, unparalleled embroidery, the cut. In short: all the skills of Parisian couture.
Gemeentemuseum Den Haag owns one of the largest fashion collections in Europe, in which all the great couture houses are well represented. The original pink Givenchy dress that Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany’s is just one famous item in the collection. It also includes earlier pieces that illustrate the history of couture: Worth, Poiret and Vionnet were forerunners of the famous couturiers who now define the look of Paris’s Avenue Montaigne.

During this evening 4 English speaking guides will be present to tell you all about the creations. Non-members are also welcome during this evening.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL:
The Gemeentemuseum is allowing our members to visit the very successful and world class exhibit of Kandinsky and Der Blaue Reiter as well!!!
Wassily Kandinsky and the group of artists of Munich-based 'Der Blaue Reiter', prompted the development of Expressionism in Germany in the early 20th century. This exhibition is the first major retrospective of their work in The Netherlands. Many of the works were seen earlier as a part of the successful Kandinsky exhibitions at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. A truly magnificent overview of early modern art that you as a card holder are able to see in a special private viewing.

Besides the mini-fair with The Guest Card participants you'll also see an exclusive presentation during this evening. The unconventional show will feature designs by Michael Barnaart van Bergen and Omar Munie, as well as clothes sold at the Maison de Bonneterie & Boston Trader

Tickets for this event cost €15,- and can be ordered here. (ticketprice does not include €0,62 bank charge per transaction)
Please keep in mind that tickets cannot be returned/refunded.
